Where is Lorraine Frances jewelry made?

Every Lorraine Frances design is made by hand in our Nashville, Tennessee studio.

Are the coins used in your jewelry authentic?

Yes. The coins used in our designs are genuine coins—not reproductions. Because they’ve lived a life before becoming jewelry, variations in dates, color, wear, and patina are part of their character.

Are Mercury dimes really silver?

Yes. Genuine U.S. Mercury dimes were struck in an alloy containing 90% silver.

Are the sparkly stones genuine crystal or glass?

They’re genuine crystal. We use authentic Austrian crystal in our designs—not plastic or ordinary glass. We choose it for its exceptional brilliance, clarity, and sparkle, and because beautiful details matter in every Lorraine Frances piece.

What metals do you use?

We work with a variety of metals depending on the design, including solid brass, sterling silver, and vintage and antique metal components. Many of our brass designs are finished in antique gold or antique silver.

We also use authentic coins, vintage silverware, antique picture buttons, watch parts, and other found objects throughout the collection.

Are your earrings hypoallergenic?

We use sterling silver, stainless steel, and hypoallergenic French and lever-back ear wires depending on the design. If you prefer sterling silver ear wires, please contact us and we’ll be happy to let you know what’s possible for a particular design.

Will my jewelry look exactly like the piece pictured?

Not always—and that’s part of what makes Lorraine Frances jewelry special.

Our jewelry is made by hand, so slight variations naturally occur. Designs incorporating antique, vintage, recycled, or found components—such as coins, watch parts, picture buttons, lockets, and silverware—will vary even more because no two pieces are exactly alike.

We carefully select our materials so that while the individual details may vary, the character and quality of the design remain consistent.

Can you create jewelry from something that belongs to me?

Yes. We love giving meaningful objects another life. Through our Sentimental Journey custom work, we can transform certain personal keepsakes into wearable pieces with a story all their own.

Do the vintage watches in your jewelry work?

Unless specifically stated otherwise, vintage watches used in Lorraine Frances designs are decorative and are not sold as functioning timepieces. We choose them for their history, beauty, patina, and wonderfully intricate details.

How do I care for jewelry made from vintage silverware?

Most vintage silverware used in our designs is silver plate and will naturally tarnish over time. A silver polishing cloth or appropriate silver polish can be used gently to restore its shine.

Are the typewriter keys authentic?

Yes. When a Lorraine Frances design features vintage typewriter keys, we use authentic keys rather than reproductions.

Do you offer local pickup?

Yes. We’re happy to arrange local pickup at our Marathon Village studio in Nashville. Please contact us to make arrangements.

How quickly will my order ship?

Many Lorraine Frances pieces are made or finished by hand when you order them. Processing times can vary depending on the piece and availability of vintage or antique components.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we can ship internationally. Shipping charges vary by destination, and customers are responsible for any applicable duties, taxes, or customs fees.
